Lasagna2 Large cans of Dei Fratelli Italian Sauce
2 cans of Diced tomatoes with Orgeano, Basil, & Garlic
1 small can of Tomato Paste
1 pound of hamburger
1 pound Spicy Italian Sausage
Oregano
Basil
Fresh Garlic, or minced garlic works perfect!
1 small onion, diced
Salt/Fresh ground pepper
Chili Powder
1 Package of Lasagna Noodles
Fresh Italian Parsley
6 Cups of shredded Mozzarella cheese
1-2 cups of Italian/Parmesan cheese
1 container of Ricotta Cheese
1 Egg
1 package of Lasagna noodles
1 package of Garlic Bread

In a large pot, add both cans of Italian sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, onion, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and some chili powder. Simmer for about 30 minutes, then add freshly chopped italian parsley.

Brown hamburger and sausage, drain the excess grease. Add to the sauce, and continue to simmer.

In a separate bowl, mix together ricotta cheese and egg until blended

Boil noodles, and drain. In a large glass pan, spread some sauce on the bottom, add lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese mixture, sauce, mozzarella cheese. Layer with noodles, ricotta mixture, sauce, and italian ot parmesan cheeses, and continue until you end up with noodles and a little sauce/cheese on top. Bake in the oven around 400 until cheese is melted and lasagna is hot throughout.

* you can use 2 pounds of hamburger instead of the Italian sausage
* you can use JUST mozzarella cheese
* Bertolli pre cooked noodles work just as good :)
* If you dont like to pre cook the noodles, follow same directions, just add extra sauce and cook for about 45 minutes to an hour with tin foil, and 15 minutes before done, take off foil
* if you don't like ricotta cheese, you can use cottage cheese, with one egg mixed in. This works best for the hard noodles

Toast garlic while the lasagna is cooling. It is less "sloppy" if you let it cool for 8-10 minutes :)
