1 ½ Cups All Purpose Flour, I use King Arthur
½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon ground Sea Salt
1 ½ Cups Light Brown Sugar, firmly packed
¾ Cup Butter, softened
2 Large Eggs
1 ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chunks
1 bag Kraft Caramel Bits
Sea Salt
2 tablespoons Heavy Cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium size bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, beat brown sugar and butter with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, beat until well blended. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating at low speed until combined. Stir in chocolate chunks and 1 cup of caramel bits. Spread batter into a lightly greased 8” square pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes and enjoy! I like to sprinkle sea salt on top of the batter before going into the oven. Once they are cooled, cut into squares and drizzle with melted caramel and additional sea salt if you wish. This would be perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
To melt caramel bits, put into microwave safe bowl with 2 tablespoons heavy cream for 5-10 second intervals, stirring each time.
